After nearly 35 years of practice, you might guess that we know a thing or two about how air conditioning and refrigeration systems work, and you'd be right. But it takes more than decades of experience to properly service equipment: having the right philosophy, training and tools is also very important.
Our philosophy
The best time to service equipment is the time you choose- rather than the time it breaks down. What we're referring to is preventative maintenance. We recently invested a great deal of time and money in a computer system that tracks every piece of equipment we service and tells us exactly when each piece of equipment is due for manufacturer recommended maintenance.
We are excited about this system because we believe it will save our customers valuable time and money. Cooling equipment is more efficient and reliable when properly maintained. Regular maintenance also allows us to detect and fix many problems before they manifest into full-blown breakdowns.

Training
Good technicians aren't born, they are made. Our techs take training courses every year to keep up on the latest technology and learn the right way to work on equipment that changes and grows more complex every year. We invest in training because we don't believe in "winging-it." Our customers pay for and deserve solutions, not guesses.

Tools
Whether you believe cooling is an art or a science- there are two things that artists and scientists have in common: they both need the right tools and they both sweat the details. The same is true in our business.
With the right tools and the right knowledge, there is no need to guess. That's why we always make sure we have both before we work on any piece of equipment. Start with information: all of our techs are equipped with Apple iPhones so they can call up equipment manuals, wiring diagrams and other information from our internal database and those of manufacturers. Going one step further, we keep a shared directory of phone numbers for manufacturer techs so we can call on them with ease.
Every year we travel to the biggest HVAC industry trade show, ASHRAE, to see the latest and greatest technologies and every year we find something worth bringing back and using in our business. From specialized screwdriver sets to infrared thermal cameras to iPhones, our tools allow us to perform service at a peerless level of precision and quality.
Experience
Oh yeah, we almost forgot experience. We have some of that, too. Our company has continuously serviced heating and refrigeration equipment on Nantucket for almost 35 years.
